Apprenticeships at a glance

Apprenticeships at SIM Automation last 3.5 years. In your first year of apprenticeship, you will receive basic training in our workshop, followed by further years in specialist training in the respective departments under the watchful eye of the vocational trainer. You will also take part in further training courses via the company training association.

Our apprenticeships

Mechatronics engineer
Vocational college: Mühlhausen

- Designing mechatronic components and devices
- Installation of mechatronic systems, configuration, commissioning and instructing the machine operator on correct operation
- Maintenance and inspection of mechatronic plants, replacement of defective or malfunctioning components and retrofitting of outdated plants
- Creation of technical documentation: construction drawings, assembly and circuit diagrams, manuals and operating instructions

Industrial engineer
Vocational college: Leinefelde


- Installing, servicing and repairing technical equipment, machines and plants
- Manufacturing components and assemblies
- Monitoring production processes
- Instructing customers or colleagues on how to use the equipment

Cutting machine technician
Vocational college: Leinefelde


- Processing metal parts by hand or using machines, such as turning, milling and grinding
- Assembling individual components into assemblies
- Configuration and maintenance of tooling machines, checking the machine run
- Checking the quality of the manufactured components

Study and vocational training / dual-study program at SIM

  • University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Göttingen: precision mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science
  • FH Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering
  • DH Gera-Eisenach: engineering
